Terms & Conditions for treatment at LED By Light in Spalding

At LED By Light, we help people feel comfortable in their skin! Our LED Phototherapy device is FDA Certified and classed as a medical device, so we have some terms and conditions about coming to see us for appointments.

We require our clients to read these before booking to see us.

No credit card required

The agreement to work on the issues presented by you, the client, in no way guarantees a "cure" or resolution of symptoms, although we will endeavour to provide reduction in symptoms.

By coming to see us for help, you understand that we are not a medical doctors or dermatologists, and that we cannot diagnose disease or medical conditions.

You are confirming that you will carry out preparation before coming to see us as listed in our preparation page and in our emails to you, and not to use certain products before coming to see us as listed in our preparation page

You are also confirming that you are willing to be treated using LED Phototherapy as provided by the Dermalux Flex MD device. Pre and post treatment use of HYPO21 Clinic Procedure Care spray is recommended, if you do not wish to have this, please let us know.

You are also confirming that you understand that the treatment area may feel warm during treatment and be redder for one to two hours afterwards. Facial treatment may result in a warmer feeling in the mouth. Face, neck and head treatment involves closing your eyes - and keeping them closed - and wearing eye safety goggles for the duration of treatment. These will protect your eyes but you will still be aware of light around you in a similar way to looking towards the sun whilst wearing sunglasses with your eyes closed. You will not be left unattended during the treatment.

When you come to see us, you are required to complete the online intake form at the time of booking your appointment.

We can work on clients of all ages - from children to elderly - but children under the age of 18 must have a parent or responsible adult present during treatment. Anyone is welcome to bring a friend or chaperone with them.

Finally, please do not come and see us if you have a communicable, airborne disease (coughs, colds, influenza or COVID). We do not wish to become contagious ourselves.

Contraindications
Contraindications are pre-existing health conditions or issues that mean LED Phototherapy is not a suitable treatment for you. It's important to remember that not all therapies are right for all people - you wouldn't give a medicine that contained peanuts to someone who has a peanut allergy!

We may still be able to help you through our specialist pain service, State 11, or our therapy service, Fantastic Day, but we can't treat you with LED Phototherapy if you have any of the following conditions:

  • Epilepsy or seizures

  • Porphyria

  • Lupus Erthematosus

  • Photosensitive Eczema

  • Hypomelanism (Albinism)

  • Skin cancer

  • Other active cancers (if you have previously had cancer or your cancer is in remission, we may be able to treat you with permission from your medical team)

  • Eye disease (including glaucoma and macular degeneration)

  • Light induced headaches

We also can't treat you if you are pregnant. You can read more about contraindications here

Certain prescription medication (both in tablet form and cream or gel form) can increase photosensitivity, and may mean you can't have LED Phototherapy. This includes St John's Wort and other herbal remedies.

We are unable to help people currently undergoing chemotherapy, radiotherapy or work on areas of the body that have recently undergone surgery or open wounds. We cannot work on areas of the body where there are broken bones. We cannot carry out any work around the eyes on people who have PTSD or other emotional condition.

If you come to see us and we feel we cannot work on you because of a contraindication or other condition, we will cancel your appointment and refund any money paid.

If you have been seeing us as part of a treatment package, and health changes mean you are unable to complete your package, you are welcome to transfer it to someone else (with our consent) or we will refund you for the appointments you have not taken (the cost will be calculated at the discounted package rate).

Contact Between Appointments
If you are concerned by any side-effect after your treatment, you are welcome to contact us by telephone, email, or text. You can also use Facebook Messenger but please be aware any messages sent will be property of Facebook and not protected under GDPR.

Cancellation and Rescheduling
We're a small business, and last minute cancellations can be costly as it is not always possible to fill the appointment. If you know you are going to need to cancel, please let us know as soon as possible.

If you don't show up for your appointment without letting us know beforehand (a "no show" appointment) then any money paid will be forfeited as we will be completely unable to book someone else in by the time it is clear you are not going to turn up. Should you wish to rebook, you will be required to pay the cost of the missed appointment.

If you do not show up for an appointment that is part of a package without letting us known beforehand (a "no show" appointment) than that appointment will be forfeited and deducted from your appointment count as if you had attended.

Any sexually inappropriate behaviour or comments will result in the immediate termination of your appointment, cancellation of any remaining package appointments (without refund) and banning from any further appointments. There will be no refunds.

Confidentiality
Confidentiality will be maintained in all but the most exceptional circumstances. These can only include: legal action (criminal or civil court cases where a court order is made demanding disclosure which includes coroners courts) and where there is good cause to believe that not to disclose would cause danger of serious harm to yourself or others.

Most standards of confidentiality applied in professional contexts are based on the Common Law concept of confidentiality where the duty to keep confidence is measured against the concept of "greater good”. The sharing of anonymous case histories with supervisors and peer-support groups is not a breach of professional confidentiality. The sharing of open case histories with supervisors and any referring NHS medical practitioner is also not a breach.

Results and number of treatments
Because results are individual, we can't guarantee a particular outcome.

Multiple treatments are required to achieve optimal results. It's why we offer packages; one treatment may feel relaxing but is very unlikely to achieve optimal results.
